Pictured above is a plate of oysters as served at Upstairs on The Square in Cambridge, MA. Lightly broiled with herbs and a touch of lemon. Yes, you have seen this when we visited “Upstairs” last month. Why feature them again? They are shown in all their glory because I love oysters.
The bivalve beauties shown above are half an order of six served at The Driftwood in Plymouth, MA. These were the freshest I have ever had. The curled up their edges when sprinkled with lemon juice. Their flavor was briny with a slight sweet touch. The Mayflower beer was a nice match with it’s slightly sweet grain flavor and spike of hop tang to make the sea-flavor of the oysters easy to appreciate.
Yes… I ordered another six… and then another six.
