Not long ago, the very night that the New York City Brewers Guild threw their birthday party, the BeerBasics.com crew had a chance to stop in at the Radegast Hall and Biergarten in Williamsburg, Brooklyn (113 North 3rd Street, Brooklyn, NY 11211 (718) 963-3973). The professed reason was to get something to eat before the NYCBG event. The actual reason was to try a couple of the German brews they had on tap there.

Keep in mind that these observations and pictures were made on a middle-of-the-week evening and the weather had just gone from not-so-good to beauty.

First let’s take a look around the Hall part… before we visit the Biergarten.

The entry to the Biergarten is just to your right as you enter the Hall…

The unique selling point here is the grilled wurst… grilled on-demand. The communal tables are ideal for large groups and/or families.

BeerBasics photographer Ginalola and I chose to go with a cheese board and charcuterie board and share. Pictured bellow, they were a good choice to accompany the lager style beers.

And then it was off for a short stroll to the Brooklyn Brewery and the celebration of the New York City Brewers Guild. But you’ve already heard that story eh?
