Toad Hall is a landmark watering-hole in what is called SoHo (South of Houston), in New York City. Smokey Glenn, the owner is the iconic SoHo bar owner and Robert “Bob” Cenedella is the iconic SoHo artist… not the starving kind.

Yesterday afternoon I wandered across the river to meet “Little John” at the Broome Street Bar & Grill (Or “Ken & Bob’s” if you are a certain age.) and drop into Toad Hall where there was rumored to be a great deal on beer… if you were willing to part with a $20.00 for an inscribed copy of “He Shall Overcome – A history in lines and words of Lyndon Baines Johnson”, written by Smokey and illustrated by Bob. The icons were gathering…

The plan was to just drop in and bother Mr. Bob.

All looked quiet from the outside…

And this is what waited…

The crows, the noise, the beer!

(Cenedella on the left and Smokey on the right.)

Yes… I did loose count of the cans of Sixpoint consumed.

Yes… I did get an inscribed book.

That proves I was there doesn’t it?
