Getting to, and finding, the Chelsea Brewing Co. is a bit of a challenge but possible… First you have to get across Tenth Avenue. It is a lot easier than it was when the brewery first opened.

Once inside the huge complex you will catch sight of the entry…

 

And at the end of a short hallway there is a light at the end of the tunnel…

 

Let’s take a look around inside… Yes, the folks in the foreground were the first tour group of the day…

Once assembled in the brew-house the tour began… more of a “stand around” but the brewer put a good effort into the descriptions of the brewing process and the brew-house equipment.

 

He started with a description of the basic ingredients… with samples of the malted grain and hop pellets…

The description of the grinding of the grist mill left the group in awe… or at least silent.

Brewer… mash tun… hop back.
